This week Danah Montgomery joined the New City Neighbors team as the High School and Intern Director. This new, full-time, position was created to specifically focus on our high school staff and the interns who join our team. She’ll be working on developing a more robust program for the high school staff, as well as a structured intern program for young adults and college students. Last year alone we had 27 high school students working on our staff, which highlights the need for this new position. We are thrilled to have Danah joining our team to help us invest more deeply in our student staff and interns. Her passion for high school students as well as her experience will be an incredible addition to our team!

Danah shares with us: “I am so excited to join New City Neighbors as the High School and Intern Director. I was immediately drawn to New City Neighbors based off their values of service and empowerment and their strategies of racial reconciliation, leadership development, and community restoration. I recently graduated from Calvin College with a degree of Social Work and Spanish. I very recently returned from a semester in Washington DC where I worked as an intern. I have worked and volunteered with various organizations focused on youth in Grand Rapids. For fun, I love to travel with friends and family, watch movies, plays, and musicals, and spend time with my cat. I am extremely passionate about youth development, empowerment, and social justice. I am super excited to work with the high schoolers and invest in all the diverse programs that NCN has!”

Welcome to the NCN team and community, Danah!
