Our recent newsletters have communicated that we’re gearing up for some exciting changes at New City Neighbors. As we began looking to the future and examining where God is taking us, we realized our original mission and vision statements had become out of date. We needed something that would better communicate what we do, and what we hope to do for years to come.
Last our board of directors unanimously approved the following new vision and mission statements for NCN. As we move ahead with these new statements to guide us, we appreciate your prayerful support more than ever!
If you have any feedback you’d like to provide, please email our Executive Director.
Our Vision:
A city of peace and prosperity
Our vision statement is taken from Jeremiah 29:7. Peace in this sense is more than “getting along,” it represents Shalom, which means a full-flourishing or holistic approach to our ministry of community restoration and development. This includes wholeness relating to spiritual, emotional, educational, economic and physical health.
In order to accomplish this vision we believe our Mission is:
Empowering youth to reach their full potential
Our Strategies to accomplish this mission are:
- Helping students understand who they are as image bearers of God
- Developing self-worth
- Faith development / Bible study
- Job training
- Leadership development
- Mentoring
- Racial reconciliation
- Educational tutoring
- Health and nutrition
- Community restoration
- Church connections
