My name is Andebrhan Abraha. I am 17 years old and come from Eritrea (in Eastern Africa). I’ve been in America for almost a year, and I am going to be a sophomore at Grand Rapids Christian High School next year. I also go to an Eritrean Orthodox church in Grand Rapids, which is like my old church from Eritrea. I started working on the farm this summer and I really like working with the tomatoes. This week, I got to do a lot of work with the tomatoes, including weeding, pruning, and harvesting. I also helped to weed the beet beds and replant some beans. One of my favorite parts of the farm is the food. Today we had African peanut stew that was made with a lot of produce from the farm and it was really good. I really enjoy cooking and look forward to working in the kitchen at the farm.
