Praise:
  • We give praise for the warm weather that is finally allowing us to start construction on our new green house. We’re excited to extend our growing season with this amazing structure, which has been fully paid for with a grant!
  • I want to praise God for Tim. Tim is part of our high school ministry, and has been through a lot in life. Despite everything, Tim is passionate about Jesus and the Bible. He has lots of scripture memorized and is an incredible example for the other students.
  • Join us in praising God for the continued work he is doing in the life of Shanna. Shanna has really grown up through our Farm program, and recently got a job on the YMCA Veggie Van. Not only that, but because of her farm experience, she has been accepted into a farm management program through Michigan State University!
Prayer
  • Please keep praying for our High School ministry. We have a significant number of students who seem to not care about Jesus, and only come to hang out. Pray that God would open their hearts to hear his Word, and experience the love of Jesus. Pray for the leaders of this ministry as they work hard to connect with those students and point them to Christ.
  • Carl – This young man has been a significant part of our Urban Farm, and High School ministry. Over the last year he has been in and out of Juvenile Detention. Pray that God would intervene in his life and keep him from trouble.
  • Kailey – Kailey has attended many of our ministries as well, and has really struggled in the last two years. As an 8th grader, she finds her identity in boys, and often makes poor choices related to them. Pray that God will work in her heart, but also provide stability in her home. Pray as well that she would connect with a leader who could mentor her and show her the love of Jesus.
  • Pray for our Board of Directors as they meet this coming Monday to continue planning for the future of New City Neighbors. We are working hard to develop new ministries that will significantly impact the lives of students. Pray that God would provide wisdom and guidance throughout this process.
